The format of the Open Assessment is changing in 2014-15. In essence,
the single two-part arrangement in previous years is becoming *two*
single-part Open papers. These will correspond to the two parts of previous
years.

So ... the first (autumn term) Open paper will be of a similar type to
Part 1 of the previous years, and the second (Spring term) Open will
be of a similar type to Part 2 of the previous years.

It is expected, however, that the workload for each will be reduced. In
particular, the length of the essay (Aut Open) will be less.

These new arrangements were made in response to student feedback.
