Summary of Feedback General ------- In total 65 student filled in the feedback form. In terms of overall module score most students (36) gave it a 4 (out of 5); 11 student gave it a 5, and 12 students a 3. There was no score of 2, but 1 score of 1. Clearly this single person did not enjoy the module or find it useful. Some students felt that the module web page could be better organised. This will be done for next year. Practicals ---------- There was general support for the practicals, although there was some criticism of 'one language a week'. We shall look again at the balance of work in each practical for next year. Some student would have liked more time for the open assessment (but this is difficult, as the open assessment has to be completed within the term). Formative --------- The formative assessment was useful, but more detailed feedback was requested by some students. Most found the PTAs to be helpful - but there was some criticisms that we will be address. Comments on Part 1 ------------------ Several students commented that they found Part 1 'boring', and this was often linked to a feelin gthat the lecture pace was too slow. AMW agrees that there is an opportunity for increasing the breadth and depth of the first part and will do so for next year. Comments on Part 2 ------------------ More full examples were requested in the second part of the course. These will be added into the lectures next year. If the timetable will allow a futher practical will be added on concurrency.
